TIBETAN SINGING BOWLS continued

Tibetan singing bowls were originally created using a particular combination of seven metals, so used to create beautiful harmonics whilst reflecting the sound of the planets. Tibetans assign each of the seven metals used in the production of Tibetan singing bowls to one of the planets of the solar system and therefore each of the metals incorporated invokes the energies associated with each of the planets. This planetary connection clearly indicates the immense knowledge and understanding which the ancient Tibetans utilised in the creation of these ancient sound instruments. Though modern singing bowls are not produced in the same way or following the same composite recipe they are still believed to contain the seven metals as originally used and if carefully chosen some wonderfully expansive harmonic sounds. In the context of sound healing, the bowls can be also used to reflect the tones and frequencies of the seven chakras creating balance within the energy centres of the client. I use singing bowls to facilitate balance within the energy field of the client using a number of techniques which include placing bowls directly on clients where appropriate and as indicated. Greek Philosopher Pythagoras whose theories in relation to patterns and geometry found in nature and in music as still taught today believed that everything within the whole universe is constantly vibrating and therefore has an individual and unique sound. These sounds include each planet in our solar system and can also be related on an individual basis to the sounds within, which may or may not be in balance. Use of Tibetan bowls aims to facilitate resonance and connection throughout the subtle energy field of the individual and within the seven main energy centres. Use of Tibetan bowls strengthens our connection to everything that is contained in the universe helping to invoke the energy of each of the planets within. The chakras or seven main energy centres within our own personal subtle energy field are like a reflection of the entire solar system. In one sense, humans are microcosms of the universe. Therefore universal energies symbolized with those of the solar system exist within us too. The seven metals used in the creation of Tibetan bowls are Gold, Silver, Iron, Mercury, Tin, Copper and Lead. Interestingly, all seven of these metals even gold and silver, though some in trace amounts are naturally occurring elements found within the human body. Metals in our bodies in specific quantities are essential components in the healthy functioning of the brain and organs.

Tibetan bowls  used on and around the body aim to facilitate entrainment to natural resonant frequencies of the seven main energy centres. Science has shown that when something is exposed to external resonant frequency, that match or are similar, then the object literally becomes stronger, more stable and it's natural energies more coherent, reinforcing the body's own natural resonance. From the Latin root word resonare, " to resonate" literally means " return to sound" so when two objects interact sympathetically, their energies interact and amplify each other.
